Analisis de la pobreza multidimensional y la persistencia de las desigualdades : Los grupos indigenas que habitan Medellin y la autopercepcion de la pobreza en el territorio rural disperso

"This book analyzes multidimensional poverty and persistent inequalities among the indigenous peoples living in Medellâin and in communities living in Colombia''s dispersed rural territory, with a focus on the department of Vaupâes. In the case of Medellin, it is noteworthy that such poverty is experienced within a thriving city, but not alien to the dynamics of very high inequality and the causal mechanisms underlying this phenomenon in the Latin American context. As for the dispersed rural territory, the self-perception of poverty is consistent with the heterogeneity of social groups. The analysis of poverty and multiethnic inequality is challenging, therefore, its causes must be linked and some structural and persistent mechanisms in the indigenous people must be unveiled. Some of these mechanisms are linked to facts and realities in the territory of origin and to the ruptures between rural and urban dynamics"--
