Dear Stripe people

Dear Strip People consists of drawings inspired by a classic single-panel comic strip format, where each panel combines an image with text. The book introduces characters from a universe where human logic has yet to be established. In its panels you encounter dreamlike figures with poor balance, angular cave dwellers who refuse to tell you why they won''t leave their cave, and a group of rigid, pink sticks desperately warning the reader not to peek through a peephole. Dear Strip People is a surrealist and humorous exploration of an imaginative and scatterbrained world where nothing is predictable.

Erlend Peder Kvam (b. 1994) is a cartoonist from Inderøy, now based in Oslo. He has published several titles with the Swiss publisher Nieves, and was part of the performative comics collective Narves1biblioteket. He holds degrees from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where he has been employed as a doctoral research fellow in illustration since 2025.
