The ancient site of Haft Tepe in southwestern Iran, near Susa, underwent excavations from 1969 to 1979. Directed by Ezat Negahban, the project, documented in this volume, focused on architectural remains and artifacts, providing valuable insights, particularly through numerous seal impressions.

The ancient remains at Haft Tepe (the ancient name of the site is unknown) lie on the plain of Khuzistan in southwestern Iran close to the ruins of ancient Susa. Excavations under the directorship of Ezat Negahban and under the auspices of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Art were conducted from 1969 through 1979. This volume contains extensive information one excavation and the architectural remains, and includes a catalogue of the artifacts. Of special interest are the many seal impressions.
