The editors bring together chapters on religious exit from various disciplinary angles and include case studies from diverse geopolitical and national contexts including Spain, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Chile, Kyrgyzstan and Ireland. The contributors address a range of (former) religious contexts including Islam, Catholicism, Buddhism, Baha’i, Evangelical Churches and feminine spirituality. They demonstrate the multiplicity of ways of moving away from singular religious communities and cultures and the gendered processes involved.
