In subsequent chapters, students learn the basic structures of writing, how to choose a topic and construct a thesis statement, how to write effectively for an intended audience, and how to include evidence and argument to support a thesis statement. Additional chapters discuss essay organization, writing with style, reviewing drafts, and adding finishing touches.

Zachary Stewart earned his M.A. and B.A. in British and American literature from Florida Atlantic University. He is an associate professor of English at Palm Beach State College and a former English teacher for grades 9-12 at Palm Beach Lakes High School.
