Ahlia University contributes to the advancement and propagation of knowledge by encouraging its academics and research students to publish their original research that can be applied to real-life situations. Co-operation with Brunel University London in the United Kingdom led to the establishing of a Ph.D. programme at Ahlia University in 2005.
An important annual feature of the programme is the two-day symposium held at Ahlia University at which students are expected to give a presentation on their research to date. After the symposium, each participating student records the contents of his/her presentation in a research paper.
This volume contains the proceedings of the workshop held in 2014. The majority of students carry out research related to a wide variety of topics in business and management and this is reflected in this book.
