How Puzzling!

All readers can build fluency by acting out this leveled script! This story about a puzzling, unique school includes six differentiated roles, allowing students at varying reading levels to all participate and feel successful.

Students will act out a story of a group of kids who learn about a puzzling school called Wayland Jr. High, where the students get to solve fun math problems and puzzles. They discover that everything at Wayland is a bit odd, but they eventually learn that Wayland is no more fun and puzzling than their own school, Dullsville! This Reader''s Theater script includes six roles, each of which match a different reading level. Teachers can assign specific roles to their readers based on each student''s current reading level, allowing all students to get involved in the same activity and feel successful! Students will gain confidence in their reading fluency through performance, regardless of their current reading ability. While performing with others, students will practice performance, interacting cooperatively, reading aloud, and using expressive voices and gestures to better tell the story.
