His philosophy had a profound effect on Swedish thought and the publication of his work in the Muirhead Library in 1964 helped to bring his powerful discussions to a wider audience. The essays offered in this volume are among Hägerström''s most important writings. Also included is C. A. Campbell''s On Selfhood and Godhood, a work drawn from the Gifford Lectures, arguably the most prestigious lectures in religion, as delivered between 1953-55.
