The First Supplement covers 70 additional titles containing approximately 47,000 names. Publication dates of the indexed volumes range from the reprint of a 1926 title to the 1980 edition of Who's Who in American Art. The format of the new volume is identical to the original work: a listing by surname with birth and death dates, nationality, media in which the artist worked, and a code referring to the bibliography of the titles indexed.
