Information & Communication Technology : Changing Education

Information and communication technology has changed the way of perceiving things and acting in the modern way. With the infiltration of information and communication technology in perhaps every sphere of the human domain, its impact is ideally manifested in all angles of perceptions and in most cases, the perception tend to provide us with a positive feedback. One of the core areas where information and communication technology has made a profound impact is the domain of education. Even some decades earlier, student who did not have the resources either in terms of money or in terms of access to infrastructural content, could not dream of having an education. However, the scenario has totally changed today. The concept of distance education has started operating in full swing at perhaps every corner of the globe. Even the rural schools of the country now have the privilege of proudly considering themselves bound by the thread of information and communication technology. Which helps them have their share of quality education. Teachers teaching either in the metros or in rural schools can now disseminate information and educate the students in a much more refined and interesting way by adopting and utilising their ICT skills. This book highlights the linkage of ICT and education. It attempts to focus on the utilises of such linkage, and thereby tries to establish the advantages of incorporation of ICT to education in both developed and developing economics.
