Two women from entirely different backgrounds who have more in common than meets the eye. Life has dealt Terelle a dismal hand: a rough childhood spent in and out of foster care, an unexpected pregnancy, and an unfaithful man. But she''s determined to change all that. Terelle works long hours as a nursing assistant to pay for exorbitant collect phone calls, care packages, and to generally help support Marquise, the incarcerated father of her child. She expects to be compensated with marriage and is devastated when upon his release he refuses to settle down and resumes his philandering ways.
