Inspirations: Stampwork

Original ideas using one of the most innovative home decorating techniques.

Stamping is a quick, accessible and effective alternative to stencilling, enabling you to transform a room or revamp a piece of furniture in no time at all. All you need is a stamp - either rubber or foam - and a prepared surface. Stampwork shows step by step how you can transform and embellish every area of the home. From large expanses of wall to customized kitchen accessories, this book shows you how to decorate any surface - plaster, wood, glass, fabric and paper. You can create entire co-ordinated room schemes, such as a Scandinavian bedroom, Santa Fe living room or Art Nouveau-style hallway, or transform individual accessories. As well as stamping chairs, cupboards and storage drawers, you can even stamp soft furnishings such as blinds and cushions or outdoor items such as flower pots and garden planters. Each project is photographed step-by-step, leading you through every stage of preparation. A comprehensive techniques section covers additional tips to ensure success - from making your own stamps to preparing surfaces, planning designs and choosing paint mixtures.
