Completed by an author who has specialized in reconstituting Jane Austen''s unfinished writings, this fragment of a novel begun before Austen''s death finds final expression here, introducing a quirky cast of characters making their way in a countryside resort town.

Shortly before she died, Jane Austen began a new novel that she never completed. In this text, Julia Barrett finishes the story in Austen's style. Set in the developing seaside town of Sanditon, a young woman from the countryside is exposed to the cynicism and sophistication of resort life.
