This monograph is devoted to Joël Faivre-Chalon (1953–2020), French creator of contemporary jewellery. Trained in Strasbourg and subsequently based in Montpellier, Joël Faivre-Chalon never viewed jewellery as mere ornament: his pieces are the fruit of patient research conducted into form (which, in his hands, tends to be pared down), technique, and materials.
