The processes of cultural exchange have marked for centuries the evolution of the numerous cultures that came into contact for various reasons. Today''s intense globalization process is the end of a long road that began with long-distance travel. Routes that allowed the transfer of objects, people and ideas, starting a transculturation that nowadays can be studied. Entering the 21st century, the glances of the past fix their attention on the events that took place in the first years of the 16th century inAmerica, of which it has been five hundred years since they happened. This allows us to reflect on the true dimensions of the events that took place in those territories. This book brings together the reflections of a group of professors from the Universities of Granada and Barcelona about the true dimension of the American discovery process. They are a multidisciplinary set of works around the same object, the presence of the Hispanic in the American and Asian context, as a reflection of a cultural footprint that speaks of a historical event that lasted more than three hundred years.
