LOVE STORM : Ein Interdisziplinares Kulturprojekt

The innovative cultural project LOVE STORM combines contemporary art with classical music; it is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishing of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. Artists from Germany and China, but also from other nations such as Canada and Ukraine, are taking part. LOVE STORM encourages a vital, open culture of dialogue with objective and critical reflections. The word LOVE stands for interpersonal attitudes in a global context par excellence. As a counterbalance to the digital "shit storm", Berlin-based artist Mia Florentine Weiss aims to introduce open, considerate coexistence to the public sphere with her ambigram sculptures. Her provocative sculpture LOVE HATE symbolizes a change in perspectives and is one of the most frequently photographed artworks in public space. The LOVE STORM project builds on this, culminating in a very special German-Chinese concert in Berlin and later in Beijing, whose participating artists are introduced in the publication. Das innovative Kulturprojekt LOVE STORM verbindet zeitgenössische Kunst mit klassischer Musik und ist dem 50-jährigen Jubiläum der Aufnahme der diplomatischen Beziehungen zwischen China und Deutschland gewidmet. Es beteiligten sich Künstler/-innen aus Deutschland und China, aber auch aus anderen Nationen wie Kanada und der Ukraine. LOVE STORM regt eine wichtige und offene Dialogkultur mit sachlich-kritischen Reflexionen an. Das Wort LOVE steht für die zwischenmenschliche Haltung im globalen Bezug schlechthin. Die Berliner Künstlerin Mia Florentine Weiss will als Ausgleich zum digitalen „Shit Storm" mit ihren Ambigramm-Skulpturen ein offenes und rücksichtsvolles Miteinander in die Öffentlichkeit tragen. Ihre provokante Skulptur LOVE HATE ist ein Symbol für einen Perspektivenwechsel und zählt zu den am meisten fotografierten Kunstwerken im öffentlichen Raum.

Daran knüpft das Projekt LOVE STORM an. Es kulminiert in einem ganz besonderen deutsch-chinesischen Konzert in Berlin und anschließend in Beijing, deren teilnehmende Künstler/-innen im Buch vorgestellt werden. Der Band bietet darüber hinaus einen Blick hinter die Kulissen des Entstehungsprozesses sowie besondere Momente des Projekts.
