Magical Creatures of Menopause

An amusing look at what actually causes all of those, annoying, painful, weird, and wonderful (seriously?) things we go through at menopause.

Instead of the gentile Mother Nature guiding us gracefully through our twilight years, there is a gang of wild haired, grumpy witches, fairies, goblins, and other mythical creatures that roam (and occasionally rampage) around.

There are the Weight-gain Fairies, that are either baking cakes or perusing takeaway menus all in the hopes of shrinking your clothes and expanding your waistline.

Or the Water Wizards that can make you sweat, cry, and pee all at the same time.

Don’t forget about the Oestrogen Ogre that eats up your Oestrogen, leaves you feeling terrible, and occasionally pukes it back up so you suddenly want to take up mountaineering.

And of course, the Chin Hair Goblin, a favourite (not). Just don’t ask where the hairs come from (beware, it is not for non-menopausal ears!). If you know of any menopausal women, just ask them, which hairy bit is less hairy these days? Actually, on second thoughts no. Don’t ask them. You might get a slap!
