Mayhem in Mogadishu is a vivid exploration of the United Nations’ ill-fated intervention in Somalia during the early 1990s – a mission aiming to provide humanitarian relief that quickly descended into urban warfare, political chaos and international outrage.In response to a collapsing state plagued by famine, lawlessness and civil war, the world intervened under the banners of UNOSOM I and later, the more forceful UNOSOM II.
