Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies Against Climate Change in Natural Systems

This book addresses strategies for mitigating and adapting to climate change in natural systems. According to the IPCC (2021) report, human-induced climate change has widespread global effects, significantly impacting natural ecosystems. Extreme weather events linked to climate change harm terrestrial, freshwater, ocean, and coastal ecosystems, reduce food security, displace populations, damage livelihoods, health, and security, and exacerbate inequality. While the impacts of climate change are vast and varied, making it impossible to cover every sector, the authors have aimed to address key areas and offer strategies for combating climate change through mitigation and adaptation.
