It was a single, life-changing moment - holding the paw of a distressed, captive moon bear - that ignited Jill Robinson''s mission to rescue the stoic and majestic Asiatic black bear and end the cruel practice of bile farming. Starting from nowhere, but with the passionate support of a few brilliant friends and advisors, it would take plenty of blood and sweat, and many tears, to put her plan into action. Jill knew that she couldn''t rest until she had found a way to help these innocent animals, providing them with a sanctuary where they could live out the rest of their lives in peace, free from suffering and exploitation.

From her early days of undercover activism in Hong Kong, Jill went on to establish Asia''s first animal therapy program, Dr Dog, and then to found Animals Asia - a charity that would work tirelessly to rescue the continent''s captive bears. As their efforts started to pay off, Jill and her team knew that it wasn''t just bears who needed their help - they would also save as many street dogs as possible, and work to free as many Asian elephants as they could along the way.
