Organic Chemistry : Hydrocarbons

This book presents the preparation, properties and uses of various types of hydrocarbons (e.g. aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, arenas, cyclic hydrocarbons (e.g. cycloalkanes etc) in detail. A separate chapter assigned to a particular type of hydrocarbon makes the study simpler and systematic. In each chapter, detailed discussions of some members of that particular type of hydrocarbon makes the general study of that type of hydrocarbon clear. Wherever required the mechanism of a reaction has been explained to make the understanding of reaction simpler. Name reactions have also been explained in an easily understandable manner. Most of the topics included form a part of the study of the syllabus of BSc (General), BSc (Hons), of Universities and it covers almost all the topics included for degree students of Indian universities. As a result, the book will be extremely useful to all students pursuing their degree courses and teachers.
