In building their concepts of Number at Level 1 of Mathematics in the New Zealand Curriculum, children normally pass through six developmental stages: from being unable to count at all, to solving addition and subtraction problems efficiently. The components of this Set are designed to take children from whatever stage they start at, to the beginning of Level 2 of the curriculum.
