The 10 booklets of Lyric Pieces represent a piece of intimate life history, wrote Edvard Grieg in 1901 to Henri Hinrichsen, the owner of the music publisher C. F. Peters. In memory of the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian composer's death (2007), the 66 Lyric Piano Pieces, which were so important to Grieg and extremely popular not only with pianists, have now been reissued. This edition is based on the Edvard Grieg Complete Edition (Volume 1) published by Peters. For the practical edition, the musical text was revised and given a new foreword by Prof. Dr. Joachim Dorfmuller (President of the German Edvard Grieg Society).

Todesjahr (2007) des norwegischen Komponisten wurden nun die für Grieg so bedeutsamen und nicht nur bei Pianisten überaus beliebten 66 Lyrischen Klavierstücke neu aufgelegt. Die vorliegende Edition basiert auf der bei Peters erschienenen Edvard Grieg-Gesamtausgabe (Band 1). Für die praktische Ausgabe wurde der Notentext revidiert und mit einem neuen Vorwort von Prof. Dr. Joachim Dorfmüller (Präsident der Deutschen Edvard Grieg-Gesellschaft) versehen.
