Presents groundbreaking and detailed research into the complexities of third-party student proofreading from the perspectives of staff and students.

This book delves deep into the complex, ethically fraught topic of proofreading of student writing by exploring a variety of perspectives on proofreading interventions in student texts. It gives voice to a range of ethical perspectives, from those who are deeply troubled by proofreading of student writing to those who take a more permissive stance and those whose confusion lands them somewhere in between. As the first book-length work on this topic, it makes a necessary contribution to research on proofreading of student work.
