Rapid Plus Stages 10-12 Teaching guide

This Teaching Guide offers simple, practical guidance for supporting struggling readers at Key Stage 3.

It provides:

• Guidance for the delivery of fiction, non-fiction and play texts, including one-to-one and group reading support, written by an experienced SEN specialist.
• Guidance on getting the most out of the ''Introduction'', ‘Recap'''' and ''Quiz'' pages in the Reading Books, to encourage struggling readers and support comprehension.
• Further comprehension and vocabulary activities linked to the texts students have read to practise and consolidate comprehension skills.
• Straightforward guidance on how to assess learners to ensure they start on the right level and to better understand when they are ready to progress,  written by the Series Editor, Dee Reid.
• Practical support for delivery including ''next steps'' provision and ''top tips'' for helping struggling readers to progress.
