Reading Stars Phonics Phase 5 Pack contains a complete set of reading books to support this stage of a phonics programme. In total there are 31 books.It contains both fiction and non-fiction titles, on a range of topics and text types. These books corresponds to Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds, the UK Government''s synthetic phonics programme, but can be used for phonics reading practice to support any phonics programme. The words are all decodable which means they are made up of phonics that children can put together to decode the word. There are three stages of books:The first stage is books which introduce 19 new graphemes and 15 alternate pronounciations of graphemes plus 25 new High Frequency words. These books do not cover anything else that the child will not have met before in the previous phases of their phonics learning.The second stage of books cover alternative spellings for 22 phonemes children will already have met in their phonics learning.The third stage of books cover everything learnt in each of the stages of the phonics programme including this phase.Together this pack of books offers a structured way of developing children''s progression in reading.
