Joaquín Jordá is not only one of the most important directors in Spanish film history, but, through his films, he also connects this history with the ideological and aesthetical movements that took place in European cinema and culture. His influence transcends the fields of cinema and politics and shows a different way of understanding, producing and teaching film. He was a multidisciplinary auteur, who was always attentive to historical and political change, which he observed with a critical eye. This is one of the first books in English about Jorda’s body of work.
