Marat Iliyasov, a Chechen, delves into a broader historical context, analyzing pivotal events such as the Russian conquest of the Caucasus in the 19th century and the forced deportation of the entire Nokhchi nation in 1944. These events, along with the recent wars, have played a crucial role in shaping the Nokhchi collective identity.
