About Skip Diving by Celeste Augé:

Celeste Augé''s second collection of poetry is both a celebration and an interrogation of what connects us. Skip Diving inhabits the small joys and disasters that shape a world. A father returns after over twenty years, a woman considers metaphysics as she vacuums her house, a long-term relationship is dissected, Leda undergoes IVF.

In the title poem, a dead woman is imaginatively reclaimed from the contents of a bin. These are poems that reveal ordinary miracles, shaking out the unlit edges of life into the open air, line by distinctive line.

Celeste Augé is the author of The Essential Guide to Flight (Salmon Poetry, 2009) and a collection of short stories Fireproof and Other Stories (Doire Press, 2012). She works in the area of adult education, teaching creative writing to undergraduates at NUI Galway as well as tutoring with a local Adult Learning Centre. In 2011, she won the Cúirt New Writing Prize for fiction. She lives in Connemara, in the West of Ireland, with her husband and son.
