Social Justice and Trailblazing Leadership in Yoga Therapy : A Model for Compassionate Action

This is a call to action for yoga communities to work towards healing unprecedented global social unrest. Yoga communities are already equipped with the knowledge, power, and wisdom to bring about social change and in light of that, this pioneering and integrative book provides a step-by-step action model on how holistic yoga therapy can be utilised to achieve that goal.
The focus of this book hinges on an intersectional approach that addresses leadership, trailblazing, trauma, wellness, social justice, and community, and is scaffolded by four pillars: implementing self-study, building relationships, amplifying resiliency, and fostering compassionate action.
This vital framework provides both internal and external exploration which is essential for an authentic social and personal transformation needed to reconnect with our fellow beings. It is infused with Marsha Banks-Harold''s lived experience as a Black woman with extensive insight on social injustice and microaggressions in the yoga world and practically addresses how we can use yoga tools and philosophy to prepare our communities for compassionate change.
