Sonata in G minor Op.65; Polonaise in C Op.3

Chopin's Sonata and Polonaise for piano and cello, edited by Mily Balakirev and Friedrich Grutzmacher. Contains Cello Sonata in G minor (Op. 65), written in 1846-1847, was one of his last works to be published during his lifetime. It is one of only 4 Sonatas he published, the other 3 being for piano. This sonata was written for and dedicated to Franchomme. Also included is Introduction and Polonaise brillante in C major (Op. 3), one of his first works to be published. These are 2 of 9 pieces Chopin wrote for instruments other than piano in his entire lifetime.

Diese Ausgabe enthält Frederic Chopins Sonate g-Moll op. 65 und Polonaise C-Dur op. 3 für Violoncello und Klavier. Herausgegeben wurde sie von Milij Balakirev und Friedrich Grützmacher. Die Sonate g-Moll op. 65 entstand 1846-1847 und ist eines seiner letzten zu Lebzeiten veröffentlichten Werke. Sie ist eine von nur vier Sonaten, die er veröffentlicht hat, die anderen drei sind für Klavier solo. Diese Sonate wurde für den Cellisten Auguste-Joseph Franchomme geschrieben und ihm gewidmet. Ebenfalls enthalten ist die Introduktion und Polonaise brillante in C-Dur op. 3, eines seiner ersten veröffentlichten Werke. Dies sind zwei von nur neun Stücken, die Chopin während seiner gesamten Schaffenszeit für andere Instrumente als das Klavier geschrieben hat.
