Standards-Based Math Activities for K-8 Students provides busy classroom teachers with classroom activities to help them implement the National Council of Teacher Mathematics (NCTM) Principles and Standards for School Mathematics. With readily available materials teachers will have more time to review and reflect on their teaching in concert with the latest developments in their profession. The author focuses on the products and processes of mathematics as the two are intertwined. This means that emphasis is placed on the Content and Process Standards of the NCTM. Each activity within this book provides process experiences that relate to particular mathematics content. In addition to focusing equally on the processes and product standards, the book will provide a culturally diverse context for these activities, which allows for a greater percent of students to relate to what is being taught.
