Microplastics and microfibers are omnipresent in the environment and even in human bodies, and their presence can cause negative effects in both. Prevention of microfiber and microplastics from entering the environment and mitigating the effect of pollutants that are already present are societal imperatives. Most existing literature on this topic focuses on identifying the presence and corresponding impact of microfibers and microplastics in different ecosystems over mitigation.
