Complementary and alternative medicine are extremely popular in Switzerland. In The Magic Mountains, anthropologist and award-winning author Michael Lambek demonstrates how healers exercise their creative, ethical, and political capacities in the face of challenges from biomedicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and insurance companies.
