This book supplies the need for an authoritative account of the morphology of Dutch in English and at the same time will make an important contribution to current theoretical discussions of word formation; the interactions between morphology, syntax, semantics, and phonology; and morphological change. The author is the leading scholar in the field.

This book provides the first fully-fledged description of the morphological system of Dutch written in English. Inflection, derivation, and compounding are each discussed in separate chapters, following a short exposition of the theoretical framework of the book. The interaction of morphology with phonology and with syntax is dealt with subsequently.
