Far in the north of Scotland, Norah Mackenzie’s new home at Corrain House is a chance for a place to call her own. But from the first night, Norah knows that something is wrong: her husband Lord Barland does not seem to know who she is, she is plagued by visions of spiraling roots, and by whispers on the wind.
