Winsor McCay (c. 1867-1934) was an American cartoonist, animator, and pioneer of early comic strips and animation. Born in Spring Lake, Michigan, McCay began his career as a newspaper illustrator, gaining fame for his imaginative and detailed artwork. he created the groundbreaking comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland (1905-1914, 1924-1926), known for its surreal narratives, vibrant colors, and innovative use of panel layouts, which influenced the development of modern comics.

George Peter Gatsis takes seventeen of McCay''s newspaper comic strip pages and cleans them up, modifies, and separately magnifies each panel to full page for this special, one of a kind RE-IMAGINED book from Critical Blast Publishing.
