Each chapter consists of listening and reading passages, key expressions and idioms, and performance-based activities that unfold across different modes of oral and written communication. All reading passages are authentic texts written for real-world purposes and audiences by prominent scholars, journalists, and writers in various fields in Korea. Both listening and reading passages incorporate a variety of text types and speech styles that learners will encounter in real life. This textbook is designed for the fourth year for Korean learning students at the post-secondary level, (ACTFL Advanced-Superior), with Korean language and Culture 1 having provided a basis in year three’. It is designed to accommodate a wide range of courses and curricula offered in the field of Korean studies worldwide and is intended for both a yearlong language sequence and a semester-long intensive course in advanced Korean speaking, reading, writing, or translation.
