Women of the World Calendar 2023

The 2023 Women of the World Calendar features 12 women of colour who rewrote the rules. In a time when women are grabbing the spotlight, it''s also time for a calendar that inspires the current and next generation of women who go against the grain by challenging the status quo. In New Internationalist''s Women of the World Calendar, we present a collection of 12 inspiring women who have rewritten the rules in the art, film, political and literary worlds. In the interest of bringing to light women of colour in particular, the 2023 calendar features: Megan Jayne Crabbe, author and body positivity activist (UK); Munroe Bergdorf, writer, model and activist (UK); Rupi Kaur, poet, artistand performer (India/Canada); Dominique Drakeford, environmental justice and sustainability educator (US); Helen Zia, writer and LGBTQ activist (China/US); Ayisha Siddiqa, climate justice advocate (Pakistan); Leah Thomas, environmentalist (US); Marika Sila, actress, influencer and Indigenous rights activist (Canada); Joana Choumali, photographer and visual artist (Africa); Dr Somi Igbene, biomedical scientist and nutritionist (UK); Shash Appan, hate researcher and trans/non-binary activist (India/UK); and Javie Huxley, illustrator (Chile/UK).
