This is an exhibition catalogue of Robert Schultz's superb figure drawings. Robert Schultz's figures, mostly nudes, are meticulously drawn, resulting in exquisite textures, highlights, and shadows. His closely observed and delicately wrought works deftly balance anatomy and sensuality, the human figure and the composition as a whole. The drawings, most in graphite, combine balance, stillness, and dynamism. His work makes us stop and pay careful attention. The catalogue "Robert Schultz Drawings, 1990-2007" accompanied the Chazen Museum of Art exhibition on view in the fall of 2008. Many of the drawings were loaned by private collectors and discerning art buyers from across the country.
